When we bought our property three years ago, we thought really hard about a name for our "ranch." Lots of people here have names for their properties. Since we often saw herds of deer in our meadows, we thought of something very appropriate--Deer Meadows! We have "Elk Horn Ranch" next door, so we had to have something different even though we have seen herds of elk on the property also.
The deer in the header photo are some mom and I saw after changing sprinklers one day. Always a treat to see them so close. You could even see the felt on their antlers. It is getting to be the time of year that we will be seeing them again before the snow flies. I love this time of year!
